A Casper man will be spending time behind bars for violating his probation, in a case where he admitted to using a knife to rob a Federal Credit Union.

Twenty year old Dillon Martin was sentenced to eight-and-one-half to 15 years in prison, after he admitted to probation violation, in a case where he pleaded guilty to one charge of aggravated robbery.

Prosecutors say Martin was arrested in early July 2016, for a number of traffic violations, after leading the Wyoming Highway Patrol on a chase between Alcova and Casper, where speeds were greater than 100 miles per hour.

The Wyoming Department of Corrections alleges that before the arrest, Martin had violated other conditions of his probation, such as not attending counseling as directed, not notifying agents about his where-abouts, or the fact that he had purchased a vehicle, and he was falsifying his work hours.

Casper Police say in late August 2013, Martin entered the River Rail Community Federal Credit Union on South Wolcott Street in Casper, pointed a knife at employees and told them to fill up the backpack.

He then fled the area, and police were unable to find him.

A couple of weeks later, detectives received information that Martin had been spending a large sum of money around town, including $10,000 in cash for a car, as well as new expensive clothes and was not working.

When interviewed, Martin confessed to the robbery and that he was acting alone at the time.

He was 17 at the time the crime was committed, and was charged as an adult.
