The Wyoming Cowboys reached the midpoint of Fall Camp Tuesday in Laramie with good news and bad news.

The bad is that junior defensive tackle Ravontae Holt is done for the season with a torn ACL. At 6-4, 272 pounds, he was expected to anchor the interior of Wyoming’s defensive line this season.

Holt played in all 12 games last season and made 31 total tackles. He had 1.5 tackles for loss, a quarterback hurry, and one forced fumble.

Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl spoke about Holt and where the Cowboys turn when he met with the media after Tuesday’s practice. Bohl did talk about the progress the team is making outside the bad news. He’s feeling very good with Sean Chambers at QB, particularly with the versatility of the offense. He pointed out sophomore linebacker Chad Muma and junior safety Braden Smith. Bohl is looking for more consistency at the wide receiver position. Watch what Coach Bohl had to say in the video above.

It was announced Monday that the Cowboys regular-season finale at Air Force will be broadcast live on Facebook. The game is Nov. 30 at noon in Colorado Springs. It’s one of seven games involving Mountain West Conference schools that will appear on Facebook. San Diego State and Utah State will make two appearances.

With 10 practices left, Wyoming will have a significant, but closed scrimmage Saturday. There are only four fully-padded practices left in Fall Camp, which concludes Saturday, Aug. 24. The Cowboys open their season in 18 days versus Missouri at 5:30 p.m. in War Memorial Stadium.
