Stephanie Boster, Casper City Council member for Ward 2 says she'll be resigning as of July 1st. She made the announcement at Tuesday's council work session. Boster, who's an attorney, will be moving to take a position in Cheyenne after four and a half years of city council service.

In 2007 Boster began as an appointed member to replace, then outgoing Council member, Barbara Peryam, who in turn was leaving the Council to become a County Commissioner. Boster was elected to a second term in November 2008.

The remaining eight council members will now begin the process of appointing someone to fill the remainder of Boster’s term, which expires in 2013.  City spokesman, Pete Meyers,  explains.

"It's a very simple application form. You write your name on the application and you certify that you are a registered voter and a resident of Ward 2. Then you send in a resume and council will take it from there."

Council members will review the applications and select someone to complete the term.

Ward two boundaries begin west of Poplar Street. Candidates must currently reside there. Detailed ward maps are available online and in the City Manager’s office where you can also find application forms.

Applications will be taken until noon on June 27th
