The Fremont County coroner says a couple killed in a plane crash in Wyoming's Wind River Range last month died of massive blunt force trauma.

KTAK Radio in Riverton reports that Coroner Ed McAuslan has identified the victims as 69-year-old Mary Dawson and 71-year-old Robert Dawson. The office's case docket didn't list their hometowns.

The plane was registered to a company in Parker, Colo. The Dawsons were flying from Driggs, Idaho to Front Range Airport outside Denver on Aug. 14 when they crashed.

A National Transportation Safety Board preliminary report says controllers in Salt Lake City tried to contact the single-engine plane after it disappeared from radar screens.

Authorities say the plane crashed at about 11,400 feet above sea level 20 miles west of Lander.
