'Tis the season in Casper as the switch was thrown, to welcome in the winter holiday season.

About 65 trees, decorated with holiday lights were lit up at Casper’s Conwell Park...or Holiday Square as it’s now called for next month and a half.

It’s a tradition put on by the Wyoming Medical Center for the past 15 years.

Alisha Havens, who is the Development Director of the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation, says initially, the lights were put up for patients in the hospital, so that they would have something to see each night, during the holiday season.

"The lights for the Holiday Square have a special healing aspect for our patients that are on the second, third and fourth floor that can look out and just enjoy the peacefulness that it brings to the park across the street."

The lights will be on from dusk until dawn everyday between now and the New Years’ Holiday.
