As if the Memorial Hospital of Converse County weren't have enough problems in the wake of the discovery of a nurse stealing painkilling drugs, now they are the victims of a phone scam.

Apparently, scammers are using technology to present the hospital's number on your caller ID. Here is the post on the hospital's Facebook page.

"Heads up folks! We have been advised that our caller id has been spoofed. A sales company is using a method called “Caller ID Spoofing” when contacting people in our area to sell extended warranties or other services. The company is using a device to project MHCC’s phone number during the call. The recipient of the call sees MHCC’s number on their caller ID and answers the phone. They are then given a sales pitch for services. We are working to resolve the problem currently but wanted to provide an alert to our community."
