Natrona County Sheriff's Office will never call you on the phone and ask for money or gift cards

The Laramie County Sheriff's Office is warning residents not to fall for a scam in which someone claiming to be with the department calls asking for a donation to help keep the roads safe.

Police are calling this con a "savvy phone scam."

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office is warning Casper residents of a new scam making the rounds, in which, once again, the perpetrator attempts to steal money from unfortunate victims.

Cheyenne police are warning residents not to fall for an old scam that's making the rounds again.

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office is warning people in the community about another phone scam that attempts to get people's personal or financial information.

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office recently said on their Facebook page that there's a scam going around in which somebody or somebodies are falsely identifying themselves as NCSO deputies, lieutenants, or captains in an attempt to gather personal and/or financial information.

Anyone receiving the calls should immediately hang up and contact CPD at 307-235-8278.

In another version, the caller pretends to be a law enforcement officer calling to report that a child or grandchild has been involved in a crash.

CPD spokeswoman Rebekah Ladd said all scam calls are concerning, but one using a police department's official phone number is particularly worrisome.
