A 20-year-old Cheyenne man could face up to 20 years in prison after deputies say he stabbed his brother and hit a woman with his car.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Capt. Linda Gesell says deputies were called to 3201 South Greeley Highway #18 on June 20 after Isaiah Diaz got into a fight with his brother, Guillermo Diaz, and stabbed him in the back with a steak knife outside their trailer.

The two had purchased a car together, and were fighting about a June 19 incident in which Guillermo damaged the car's windshield with a shovel, according to an affidavit.

Deputies say after the stabbing, the trailer park manager, James Jarrett, and his wife, Rose Jarrett, told Isaiah -- who was attempting to leave in the car -- to stay at the scene, but Isaiah put the car in gear, hit the gas and struck Rose, causing her to have pains in her leg.

Isaiah then reportedly slammed the car into park, causing it to stall, and took off on foot. He was being held down on the ground by James when deputies made contact with him near Afflerbach Elementary School.

Isaiah was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Guillermo was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and treated for a one-centimeter puncture wound.

Isaiah is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $5,000 cash bond.  His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 28 at 10 a.m.
