Cheyenne Man Arrested After Leading Authorities on Pursuit
A Cheyenne man is in custody after leading Wyoming and Colorado authorities on a 25-mile pursuit this morning.
The pursuit began around 9:15 a.m. when a Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper tried to stop a blue Jeep Cherokee on the southern outskirts of Cheyenne and the driver took off south on U.S. Highway 85.
The trooper chased the Jeep into Colorado and followed the suspect on multiple county roads near the Carr area, before the Colorado State Patrol was able to pull the Jeep over on I-25 about eight miles south of the Wyoming border.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid says the driver, 27-year-old Dustin Shupe, had a warrant out for his arrest.
Wyoming Highway Patrol Sergeant David Wagener says future charges are pending against Shupe in Wyoming that will have to be served via an arrest warrant.
