For the first time in 23 years, the Casper Oilers are the state champions of American Legion 'AA" baseball thanks to a 5-0 win over Jackson Tuesday afternoon in Gillette. Oiler pitcher Corbin Kirk threw 6 and third innings and struck out 11. The Giants had just 2 hits in the game.  At the plate. the Oilers scored once in the first, 3rd in the 3rd and one more in 6th. Carter Young had 3 hits and an RBI for Casper who went 4-0 in the state tournament, including a come from behind win over Gillette on Sunday. The Oilers are 44-16-1 and will advance to the American Legion Northwest Regional that will be in Lewiston, Idaho starting on August 7th.
