Casper Man Admits to Sexually Abusing Teenage Girl
A man accused of having sex with an underage girl pleaded guilty Tuesday in Natrona County District Court to two felony charges.
Brian Christopher Bass pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor as part of a plea deal. In exchange, the state agreed to drop another count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
The state will also cap it's sentencing recommendation at 15 years in prison on each count, to be served concurrently. State statute provides a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment on each count.
Bass remains in custody with no bond, having been sentenced in a probation revocation matter.
Court documents say Bass met the victim through Whisper, a smartphone app.
Bass picked the victim up in a black pickup truck on the evening of Saturday, Aug. 13, and drove to a construction site where the abuse occurred.
After the abuse, Bass dropped the victim off at Washington Park, according to the affidavit.
Court documents say Bass spoke with investigators and admitted to having sex with the victim.
A sentencing date will be set pending completion of the presentence investigation report.
