UPDATE (6:15 p.m.):

One man is in custody after Casper police responded to a report of a woman who was forced into a vehicle against her will Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. Jeremy Tremel of the Casper Police Department says the initial call came in at 3:30 p.m. The caller reported an altercation involving a woman ended with her being forced into a passenger van.

Police immediately began looking for the van, locating it at 4:13 p.m. and attempting a traffic stop on Poplar two minutes later.

The van, though, didn't stop. Police followed it to where it eventually stopped, in the 2800 block of Poplar.

A man was taken into custody -- technically not arrested at the time -- and a woman was taken to a hospital with injuries which Tremel said are not considered to be life-threatening.

Tremel said, in a phone call at roughly 6 p.m., that traffic had likely returned to normal. Poplar was initially blocked off at the intersection of College Drive.

The exact nature of the altercation remains under investigation. The names of people involved have not been released.

Tremel said police believe the man who was taken into custody is the only suspect. However, police are looking for someone who likely witnessed the incident.
