Biatris Galicia Pleads Guilty To DUI After Colliding With Patrol Car
A Douglas woman is admitting that she had too much to drink, when she collided her car with a Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper's vehicle.
Twenty-three year old Biatris Galicia has pleaded guilty to one count of driving while under the influence.
Law Enforcement investigators say at around 4:30 AM on Sunday May 25th, a call came in regarding a two-vehicle collision, on I-25 between Wyoming Boulevard and Hat Six Road.
The trooper told investigators that he saw Galicia's vehicle going northbound in the southbound lane and the vehicle was approaching his patrol car.
The trooper then activated his lights and Galicia's vehicle stopped in front of him, then started moving again and collided head-on with the patrol car.
No one was injured in the collision, and when interviewed, Galicia admitted she had been drinking earlier.
A breathalyzer test later showed that she had a blood alcohol content of .161, which is more than twice the legal limit for driving.
Galicia will be sentenced at a later date, and could recieve up to six months in jail.
