Are You Right-Brain Or Left-Brain?

You may have heard some people say so-and-so is a great artist because she is right-brained or he is so analytical because he is left-brained. Did you ever wonder what you were? The popular conception is that if you are right-brained you are better at expressive and creative tasks. Things like recognizing faces, expressing emotion, music, color, images, intuition and creativity. If you are left-brained things like language, logic, critical thinking, numbers and reasoning would come easier to you. But is it the truth?

Now then, does it mean anything? In one study by researchers at the University of Utah, more 1,000 participants had their brains analyzed in order to determine if they preferred using one side over the other. The study revealed that while activity was sometimes higher in certain important regions, both sides of the brain were essentially equal in their activity on average. So the real thing to remember is that if you take one of these many quizzes that you will find online,  they are really just for fun and not much should be read into your results.
