2 Small Quakes Shake Dubois

DUBOIS, Wyo. (AP) - Two small earthquakes have hit the western Wyoming town of Dubois.

The earthquakes of 3.0 and 2.5 magnitudes were just 12 minutes apart Sunday night. No injuries or major damage was reported.

Don Blakeman, with the National Earthquake Information Center, says several people reported to the U.S. Geological Survey that they could feel the tremors.

Scientists say magnitude 2.5 quakes are typically felt by very few people.

Western Wyoming tends to be more seismically active than other parts of the state in part because of the Yellowstone National Park area, where there is movement of magma and hot ground water.
