A Casper man will avoid jail time after admitting he threatened his ex-girlfriend.

Twenty-one year old Zachary Knigge was given two, six-month suspended jail sentences, with one year of probation, after pleading guilty to two misdemeanors counts of violating a protection order.

Prosecutors say in December, Knigge threatened the Stepping Stones Learning Center with gun violence, if daycare officials did not allow him to pick up his son.

Knigge’s ex-girlfriend worked at the daycare center and is the biological mother of the child.

Court documents also indicate Knigge’s ex-girlfriend has sole custody.

Prosecutors say the ex-girlfriend received multiple threatening text messages from Knigge.

Prosecutors also say that prior to his arrest, Knigge threatened to kill himself and his ex-girlfriend.
