Wyoming Mining Truck Fire Causes Estimated $1M in Damage
GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — A haul truck at the Buckskin mine in Wyoming has been destroyed in a fire.
The truck caught fire Saturday afternoon. The damage is estimated at $1 million.
The Campbell County Fire Department states the fire was caused by a mechanical failure.
Chief Bill Shank said employees at the mine suspected it was due to the failure of an electric dry motor.
Matt Young, the mine manager of the Buckskin Mining Co., declined to comment on the incident.
