The Wyoming High School State Cross Country Championships will be run in Star Valley for the first time on Saturday.

The Valley View Golf Course in Afton, WY will serve as the host site for the 2019 championships. Racing begins at 11:30 a.m. with races starting every half-hour.

The order this year will be 4A boys, followed by 3A boys, 2A boys, 4A girls, 3A girls, and 2A girls.

The course records were both established earlier this year at the Wyoming State Preview Meet that Star Valley High School hosted on Sept. 14. Rawlins’ Sydney Thorvaldson has the fastest time for a girl. She ran the course in 18:20.53, while Star Valley’s Peter Visser has the best time for a boy in 16:35.25. The top 16 fastest times for a girl on this course were run on Sept. 14. The six best times for a boy and 13 of the top 15 came at the same meet.

4A Boys – 11:30 a.m.

4A Girls – 1:00 p.m.

Defending Team Champion = Natrona County

Defending Individual Champion = none (there will be a new champion)

3A Boys – noon

Defending Team Champion = None (Jackson moved up to Class 4A)

Defending Individual Champion = Peter Visser, Star Valley

3A Girls – 1:30 p.m.

Defending Team Champion = None (Jackson moved up to Class 4A)

Defending Individual Champion = Sydney Thorvaldson, Rawlins (seeking a 3-peat)

2A Boys – 12:30 p.m.

Defending Team Champion = Saratoga (won 2 of the last 3 years)

Defending Individual Champion = Jarom Herring, Saratoga (seeking a 3-peat)

2A Girls – 2:00 p.m.

Defending Team Champion = Thermopolis

Defending Individual Champion = Hailey Jones, Moorcroft (seeking a title all 4 years of her high school career)
