Wyoming Federal Judges Sentence Five for Gun, Fraud, Illegal Alien Crimes
Wyoming federal judges recently sentenced five men for fraud, firearms and illegal alien crimes, according to the Wyoming U.S. Attorney General's Office.
Chief Federal District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced Dieudlet Jean-Louis, 25, of Miami, Fla., for access device fraud conspiracy. He was arrested in Northwood, Mass. He received one year and one day of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay $164,627 in restitution.
The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Secret Service investigated this case.
In March, Skavdahl sentenced two other defendants for credit card fraud in the same case: Jason Albert Leslie, Jr., and Tafari Shaile Lawrence, both of Miami, Fla.
Skavdahl sentenced Jeremy Obermueller, 35, of Craig, Colo., for being a felon and unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. Obermueller was arrested in Lander. He received four years seven months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $1,900 fine, and a $100 special assessment.
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated this case.
Skavdahl also sentenced Severiano Diaz-Cazares, 42, of Las Vegas for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States and illegal alien in possession of a firearm. Diaz-Cazares was arrested in Riverton. He received two years of imprisonment, to be followed by one year of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations investigated this case.
Judge Nancy Freudenthal also sentenced Mexican national Samuel Olivier-Bravo 37, for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Olivier-Bravo was arrested in Cheyenne. He received time served plus 10 days to allow for deportation proceedings, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations investigated this case.
Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Eric Jeffery Ream, Jr., 36, of Cheyenne for simple possession of methamphetamine, and felon and unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. He received three years five months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release.
