The Wyoming Cowboys wrestling team is riding high after a 4-0 performance at the UNC Duals in Chapel Hill, NC last Friday.

Wyoming (5-2) defeated No. 19 North Carolina on their home mat to start the tournament, 21-17. They followed that with a 34-7 victory over Duke. In the afternoon session, the Pokes topped Army 38-3 and American 28-10.

Three Cowboys went 4-0 on the day, while a fourth, senior Archie Colgan, was 3-0 and earned his 100th career win. Out of 29 wins during the day, 17 provided UW with bonus points through pins, tech falls and major decisions.

Wyoming head coach Mark Branch was very pleased. KOWB’s David Settle had a chance to visit with Coach Branch Wednesday during the “Laramie Live on KOWB”radio  morning show. Branch talked about last Friday’s performance, the team’s progress, their next dual at home this Friday and more.

The Cowboys will host CSU Bakersfield from the PAC-12 Friday at 7 p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex. They will then head to face another PAC-12 opponent in Oregon State Sunday at 8 p.m. in Corvallis, OR.
