A Natrona County man will be spending time behind bars after admitting to his role in an alcohol induced wreck.

Wayne Knofel was sentenced to two-and-one-half to three years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to one charge of DUI 4th offense.

Investigators with the Natrona County Sheriff's Office say in March 2015, deputies were called to intersection of Zero and Six Mile Road, for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a field nearby.

Knofel was located at the scene and deputies could detect an alcohol odor coming from him.

Ot was later determined that his blood alcohol content at the time was .23, which is nearly three times the legal limit, and he had hit another vehicle and fled the area, a short time before he crashed into the field.

Knofel has also been ordered to pay more than $6,600 in restitution to cover medical expenses, for those who were affected in the other collision.
