UW Wrestler Finishes 2nd in Nation

University of Wyoming wrestler and Cheyenne Native Bryce Meredith lost to Cornell's Yianna Diakomihalis 7-4 in the NCAA Championship match at 141 pounds in Cleveland on Saturday night. It's the 2nd time this season that Diakomihalis has beaten Meredith and freshman from Cornell needed a takedown in the last :30 seconds to preserve that victory. Meredith had a productive 3rd period with an escape to tie the match at 2 all and then a takedown with 1:15 to go to lead 4-2. Meredith even in defeat, is the UW"s first 3 time All American and was looking to be Wyoming's first national champion since Dick Ballinger back in 1960.
