LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees is starting its search for a new president.

The board was scheduled to meet Monday afternoon to discuss the process of selecting a successor to retiring President Tom Buchanan.

Buchanan announced earlier this month that he will retire next year as head of the state's only four-year public university.

Buchanan has served as president since July 2005.
