Univ. of Wyoming Housing Officials Recommend New Dorms
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — University of Wyoming officials may recommend that the state build new dormitories capable of housing 2,000 students.
The university's Housing Task Force is drafting a report for state lawmakers to review during the next legislative session.
The initial draft proposes a variety of housing styles at different costs.
The recommended styles include traditional double rooms, double rooms with private bathrooms, two or four-person suites and larger "pods" that include living space and a bathroom for roommates to share.
Officials said this week that the university will be able to issue bonds for state-backed construction of the new dormitories.
Locations have not been determined yet. A subcommittee plans to propose locations at the task force's October meeting.
