During the traffic stop, Cheyenne Police Officer Pat Johnston arrived and deployed K-9 Pavel, who alerted on the vehicle.

The vehicle was subsequently searched and approximately 21 grams of suspected fentanyl pills with packaging and a bag containing approximately 17.4 grams of suspected fentanyl powder was discovered.

Hyatt and her passenger, Michael Lorenzo-Christian Guzman, were subsequently arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on two counts each of felony possession of schedule I and II narcotics. Hyatt was also booked on a federal warrant.

Guzman made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court Friday on one count of felony possession of fentanyl, but Chief Clerk Emily Fowler said the District Attorney's Office was not filing charges against Hyatt.

Guzman's bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Friday, May 26, at 3:30 p.m.
