National Weather Service Confirms Tornado Over Bar Nunn
UPDATE - 7:15 p.m.:
Natrona County Emergency Management reports there were no injuries in the storm.
UPDATE - 5:50 p.m.:
The tornado warning for southeastern Johnson County has expired, according to the National Weather Service.
But the Riverton office of the Weather Service did confirm that a tornado touched down north of Casper.
Meteorologist Dave Lipson said his office saw a tornado signature on radar, and six people called to confirm that they saw a tornado over Bar Nunn, specifically Antelope Hills at 4:22 p.m.
The Weather Service has received no reports of injuries or property damage, he added.
Natrona County School District students in Midwest took cover during the storm, school officials announced.
UPDATE - 5:33 p.m.
A Tornado warning remains in effect for southeastern Johnson County, the Weather Service said. Natrona County is no longer under a tornado warning.
UPDATE - 5:20 p.m.
The National Weather Service has extended the warning to southeastern Johnson County.
"This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Johnson and northeastern Natrona County," the Weather Service said. Impacted areas include Sussex and Interstate 25 between mileposts 226 and 247.
A second severe thunderstorm is between Midwest and Linch and it's also capable of producing a tornado. That storm is moving north at 30 p.m. The warning will expire at 5:45 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a tornado warning for northeast Natrona County.
The warning was issued at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The tornado will be near Teapot Rock around 5 p..m. Those in the path are urged to get to shelter. The weather service advises to stay away windows and move to an interior room.
