The Super Volcano under Yellowstone only erupts once or twice every million or two million years

At some point Wyoming will have a serious quake

The United States Geological Survey recorded a 4.2 magnitude earthquake inside Yellowstone National Park on Wednesday morning.

If you felt an earthquake in the Casper area today, you are not alone. The USGS reported a moderate quake was registered just to the northwest of the city this morning

It's not likely to have caused any real damage, but there was a larger than normal earthquake that was felt near Grand Teton National Park today.

It was reported as a magnitude of 3.6.

Wyoming has earthquakes all the time. Most are in the western part of the state near the seismically-active Yellowstone. But, a moderate quake has just struck where we don't usually see earthquakes just south of the Bighorns.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the epicenter was about 20 miles northeast of Jackson.

The quake's depth was estimated to be 4.7 miles below ground.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
