Casper police say they have uncovered a meth lab near a school and have arrested the person running it.

Twenty-five year old Steven Salazar of Casper, is facing two charges of clandestine laboratory operations and one charge of possession of a controlled substance - liquid meth.

Police investigators say on Wednesday afternoon June 18th, they, along with special agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, executed a search warrant at a house on Spruce Street, which was within 500 feet of Natrona County High School.

They found numerous paraphernalia associated with a meth lab and meth use.

When questioned, Salazar admitted to making methamphetamine at the house on at least 12 occasions.

He is being held on $50,000 bond awaiting trial, and could face up to 25 years in prison on each of the clandestine laboratory operations charges if convicted.
