After a meeting on Wednesday, August 29, the Wyoming State Canvassing Board has certified the results of the primary that took place on Tuesday, August 21.

The board is comprised of chair Ed Buchanan, who currently serves as Wyoming's Secretary of State, Governor Matt Mead, State Auditor Cynthia Cloud, and State Treasurer Mark Gordon.

Among the write-in candidates to qualify for the fall ballot are Republican Alexander Muromcew for House District 23, Democrat Mark Calhoun for House District 54. Both offices represent Fremont County, though Teton County also falls under House District 23.

Two Laramie residents have also been certified as write-in nominations. Democrats Chris Lowry and Mike Massie garnered enough votes to run for State Treasurer and Superintendent of Public Instruction, respectively, in the November 6 general election. Lowry will face State Treasurer candidate Curt Meier, while Massie will go head to head with the incumbent Jillian Balow.

Lowry announced his candidacy on August 18, three days before the primary. He currently lives in Laramie, where he works as an analytical chemist for Western Research Institute. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of Wyoming and has been a lifelong Wyoming resident.

Massie previously ran for Superintendent of Public Instruction in 2010, but was defeated by Cindy Hill. He has served in the Wyoming House of Representatives, the Wyoming Senate, and is a former member of the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees. Massie earned his B.A. in Secondary Education from the University of Ohio and continued his education at the University of Wyoming, where he earned a Master of Arts in History,
