Rain will change to snow late Friday, as a large storm system impacts the area through Friday night, according to a special weather statement by the National Weather Service. They say our biggest challenges with the storm will be temperature and snow levels.

Around Casper, we'll likely have rain during the day Friday with a changeover to snow late in the afternoon or early evening, and ending by morning.  Casper Mountain may see between four to six inches of wet snow, with smaller accumulations on the grassy areas of the lower elevations. The Casper area may see an inch or two late Friday afternoon and evening

Western Natrona County may also see heavier snow Friday afternoon into Friday evening including Hiland, Waltman and Natrona with a possible two to four inches,  and strong northeast wind gustsof 30 to 40 mph are possible in open or exposed areas.
