Sinkhole Leads to Street Closure in Casper Friday Afternoon

A sinkhole caused city officials to close part of McKinley street in Casper Friday afternoon.

"Thank you Casper for quickly reporting this issue," City Manager Carter Napier said.

The sinkhole was initially reported as a pothole. McKinley Street is currently closed between 15th and 16th Streets as of 1:10 p.m. Friday.

"Since it was identified and responded to rapidly, we were able to identify the underlying issue before it became a more serious concern," Napier said.
