Rocky Mountain Power’s Centennial Legacy Plaza Dedicated

Rocky Mountain Power Celebrates 100 years of local service with dedication of a plaza and shelter on the grounds of the Nicolaysen Museum just in time for Nic Fest.

The Centennial Legacy Plaza marks the history of power in Casper. The Nic building started as a power plant.

Local dignitaries turned out for the ribbon cutting Friday afternoon.  Nic Executive Director, Connie Gibbons, says the open contemporary design by GSG Architecture is fitting.

"The shadows change as the sun moves through the sky and it really creates a nice anchor on this side of the building for these kinds of events."

The structure provides a band shell of sorts and Gibbons says they'll eventually be adding seating, along with a plaque reminding folks of the historical significance of its placement.
