Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney says charges that President Donald Trump's tax proposals will mostly help the rich are not true.

Cheney, in Cheyenne on Friday, says the truth is that the president's tax plan will do a great deal to simplify the tax code and help small business owners and the American middle class. She says the plan would eliminate the seven tax brackets that are currently in effect and replace them with three brackets.

The Wyoming Republican says people who are currently in the 35 percent tax bracket would be going down to 25 percent, while those who are currently in the 25 percent bracket would be going down to 12 percent.

Cheney also touched on a number of other topics during her interview with Glenn Woods on KGAB-AM on Friday morning.
