Oilers Lose 3 of 4 in Cheyenne
The Casper Oilers American Legion baseball team absorbed their first losses of the season as they dropped 3 out of in Cheyenne over the weekend. On Saturday, the Oilers lost to Cheyenne Post 6 11-1 as the Sixers scored 9 runs in the 4th inning and Casper committed 4 errors. The nightcap of that twinbill was far more competitive but the Oilers dropped a tough 3-2 decision as they managed just 6 hits. Garrett Clasen went 2-3 with 2 RBI's for Casper in that contest. On Sunday, The Oilers bounced back with a 13-8 win over Cheyenne with plenty of Oiler players enjoying a great game at the plate. Harrison Taubert went 3-5 with 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored. Carter Young had 3 hits and 4 runs batted in. Lane Fanto had a hit and 3 RBI's. The Oilers did lose to Gillette on Sunday 4-3 as the Roughriders won the game with a walk off homer in the bottom of the 8th. Corbin Kirk went 1-4 with 2 RBI's for Casper who now sit at 9-3 on the year. The Oilers will be in Laramie on Thursday.
