CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A federal oil and gas lease sale in Cheyenne brought in more than $22 million for the federal government and state of Wyoming.

Tuesday's sale brought in bids ranging from the federally mandated minimum of $2 an acre on up to a high bid of more than $2,600 per acre.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management reports selling access to nearly 170,000 acres of federal land, or 88 percent of the acreage offered.

The next sale is scheduled for May 1st.
