Officials with the Natrona County School District say work is progressing at Natrona County High School's new $14 million "swing space" building.

“Interior work is being finished, there are over 20 classrooms built in that building right now, lights are being turned on (and) plumbing fixtures are being installed,” district executive director of business services Dennis Bay said.

Bay said weather, however, has impaired progress on some outdoor aspects of the building.

“You got to love Wyoming in the spring time – any of this moisture that we’re getting is hampering exterior concrete, curb, gutter, sidewalk and paving,” Bay said.

The building will initially serve as temporary athletic and classroom space while the main NCHS building is renovated. It will then be converted to permanent athletic space.

The multi-use annex, which is part of a $100 million renovation and restoration of the school, should be completed by the summer.
