You may see them on the streets every day, but this is your chance for you and your kids to get up close and personal with fire trucks, police cars, and more at the "Meet-A-Machine" event coming up in Casper on Saturday, August 11th.  It's hosted by Casper Housing Authority CARES in partnership with Restoration Church.

Families and children from all over Natrona County can come out, explore, and investigate vehicles and machines from local agencies and businesses.

"When else do you get to run the siren of a fire truck?" says Lori Burns from Casper Housing Authority. "Most kids, sometimes they only see police officers and firemen on a bad day, and this lets them see the vehicles that these people bring and have a really good positive experience with their first responders and really the heroes of our community."

Besides the law enforcement and fire vehicles, there will be derby cars, the big snowblower from the Casper/Natrona County International Airport, a shredding truck, the Library Bookmobile, and more. Community service organizations will also be on hand with information about what they have to offer.

Meet-A-Machine is a fundraising event benefiting Casper Housing Authority CARES and Restoration Church. The funds Kids Kampus childcare center and its programs, the Landing Veterans project, the Lifesteps Campus Kitchen program, and the annual Father’s Day event at Washington Park.

  • Restoration Church parking lot, 411 South Walsh, Casper
