Man Convicted of Robbing Tucson Bank Gets 18-Year Sentence

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A man convicted of robbing a Tucson bank has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Shad Richard Thompson was sentenced Monday for his convictions for bank robbery and conspiracy to commit bank robbery.

Authorities say Thompson and Anna Lydia Thompson took part in the October 2017 robbery at a Pyramid Federal Credit Union location.

Thompson was accused of remaining in a vehicle while Anna Lydia Thompson went into the bank and presented a demand note to a teller.

Authorities say the pair left with $4,784 from the bank, fled Arizona and were later arrested in Wyoming.

Anna Lydia Thompson had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank robbery.
