A 36-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning after leading authorities on a short pursuit near Archer.

Laramie County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Kevin James says it all started around 8:30 a.m. when deputies tried to stop a vehicle on the I-80 Service Road east of Sapp Bros. for "some minor traffic violations" and the driver took off.

"Since it was a minor violation, we terminated the vehicle pursuit because of how dangerous those are to the public," said James.

"Within a few minutes the vehicle was spotted by the Wyoming Highway Patrol who attempted to stop the vehicle and the person actually pulled over, and that occurred right at the roundabout out at the Archer Complex," he added.

James says the driver, who was arrested for eluding and driving without a license, didn't have any warrants and a search of his vehicle "didn't result in any additional charges."

"We're not sure why he didn't stop other than the fact he didn't have a driver's license," said James.

James says no one was injured and no vehicles or property were damaged in the incident.
