Laramie Looking at Reducing Late-Night Drinking Problems
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — A committee in Laramie is looking at how to reduce problems associated with late-night drinking.
The committee made up of City Council members and others has drafted eight recommendations including a ban on alcoholic drink specials at bars after 10 p.m.
Committee member Sean Blackburn says research shows a link between late-night drinking and crime and other problems associated with alcohol.
Not all council members seem on board with the idea. Councilman Charles McKinney says prohibiting late happy hour may be an overreach.
Committee members plan to narrow down their recommendations for possible votes by the City Council.
