Kelly Walsh football player Chase Ortberg will continue his career on the gridiron at Black Hills State in Spearfish, South Dakota. He rang up 47 tackles for the Trojans this past season with 23 of them solo. Ortberg had an 8-tackle game against Laramie and had one fumble recovery during the regular season.

Ortberg has also made a name for himself in track and field running the hurdles. In last week's Kelly Walsh Invite, he took 2nd in the 100 with a time of 16.18. He won both the 110 and 300 hurdles at the Kelly Walsh Quad and 2nd in the 110 in the Early Bird meet at Natrona

At the State Indoor Track Championships, Ortberg was 4th in the 55-meter hurdles and placed 6th in the 110 at the State 4A Outdoor Championships.

Black Hills State is a Division II school that plays in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
