A Natrona County man has been sentenced in a case where prosecutors say he sexually assaulted a young girl.

22-year old Jonathan Sowers was sentenced to 12-to-18 years in prison, followed by a 12-to-18 year suspended prison sentence, with 12 years of probation, after he entered an Alford Plea on two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a minor.

Investigators say in early January, Sowers inappropriately touched one of the several children he was babysitting.

While it is not an admission of guilt, an Alford Plea acknowledges prosecutors have enough evidence for a conviction.
