Central Wyoming Rodeo Cruising Along in Casper
Two-night performances are in the books at the PRCA Central Wyoming Rodeo in Casper, with three more evening perfs to go. In the bareback on Wednesday night, Cooper Filipek of Rapid City, who competed for Gillette College in the CNFR, had an 88 to take the lead in the event. Filipek won the national championship at the CNFR so he has been on a roll lately.
In the saddle bronc, Chet Johnson, who calls Buffalo, Wyoming home nowadays, posted an 84 to lead the event at the moment. Not bad for a guy who is 44 years old. On the ladies' side, Haiden Thompson of Yoder, who also competed for Gillette College at the CNFR, had a 3 and 1 in the breakaway roping, so she is in 3rd place. Thompson won the women's all-around at the CNFR last month.
We have a fantastic collection of photos from Tuesday night's performance, compliments of Libby Ngo. This includes some snapshots from the brave mutton-busters, one of the fan favorites of the CWFR. Enjoy!
