On January 2, 1930, the first radio station in the Cowboy State began broadcasting.

94 years later, it's still on the air and going strong.

The station has kept up with the times, offering video, websites, online streaming, and podcasting.

KDFN originally signed on at 1470 kHz on the AM dial in Casper, Wyoming.

Years later, the call letters were changed to KTWO, which remained on the frequency until 1967, when it moved down the dial to 1030 AM.

In 1957, former owners Harriscope Broadcasting launched Wyoming's second television station, KTWO-TV. Although they still share the same call letters, the radio and television stations have had separate owners for several decades.

Today the station is owned by Townsquare Media, who also owns a long list of stations in Casper, Cheyenne, and Laramie.

KTWO also has one of the most powerful signals in the Cowboy State. During daylight hours. The 50,000-watt tower covers most of the state.

Today you can listen from anywhere you want anytime you want.

Wake Up Wyoming listeners can chat with the host during the show by texting him  from the Wake Up Wyoming App.

Vintage Wyoming Movie Posters

I love walking down the hallway of a modern movie theater and looking at the old posters of vintage movies.

That got me thinking about old Westerns based on Wyoming. How many of those posters are still around?

Many are, and many are for sale online, if you want to decorate your home, or even home theater, with classic and mostly forgotten movie posters.

Most of these films were made before the era of television. Hollywood was cranking out these things as fast as they could.

The plots, the scrips, the acting, directing, and editing were SO BAD, they were good.
