Three teams are left after a busy second day at the 2025 Wyoming High School Softball State Championships in Cheyenne. On Friday afternoon, a weather delay that lasted over two hours put the tournament behind schedule. Cheyenne Central punched its ticket to the state championship game, while Cheyenne East and Campbell County survived and advanced to Day 3.

Cheyenne Central held off Natrona County 9-5 thanks to four runs in their last two at-bats. Tayvin Aragon had two hits and two RBIs for the Indians. Cheyenne East beat Campbell County, 11-3. Rylee Stephenson hit a grand slam, which broke the game open for the Thunderbirds.

In the first round of elimination games, Laramie outlasted Sheridan, 9-8. Amanda Kricken hit the game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the seventh for the Plainsmen. Cody knocked out Rock Springs by a final score of 11-8. The Fillies surged in front with eight runs in the fourth inning. Campbell County slipped past Laramie, 19-18. The teams combined for 29 runs in the last four innings. Sadie Cole had the game-winning RBI single to right field. Natrona County stayed alive with a 14-12 victory over Cody. The difference was two runs by NC in the fifth inning. Marley Dickinson had three hits, which included a home run, and five RBIs. Campbell County topped Natrona County, 12-11. The Camels scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning and held NC to two runs. Courtney Thayer had three hits and three RBIs for Campbell County.

Finally, in the winners' bracket semifinal on Friday night, Cheyenne Central beat Cheyenne East, 5-0. Freshman Chaney Birt gave up ten hits but threw just 84 pitches in her first career shutout. The Indians advanced to the state championship game at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Central scored four runs in the fifth inning on a two-run double by Porcha Kammerman and a triple by Bailey Martinez that scored two runs. Maddie Birt added a solo home run in the sixth inning. WyoPreps caught up with Chaney Birt after her victory in the circle.

The first game on Saturday is Cheyenne East versus Campbell County at 9 a.m. The loser will earn the third-place trophy. The winner advances to play Cheyenne Central in the title game at 11 a.m. If Central loses the 11 a.m. game, a second title game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
