Experience The Thrill Of Mountain Biking In Casper This Summer
Are your summer plans looking like the same ones you've been doing for the last 10-years, and you're to the point that something needs to change? Do you need a little more adventure and competitiveness? Do you know how to ride a bike? Do you have a bike? I know, that's a lot of questions, but I think you'll be glad that they were asked to help you get out of your summer planning rut.
The Casper area is perfect for those who love to hop on their bike and head out to ride the hills, but have you thought about getting your entire family involved in racing? It may sound crazy to you, but it can happen with Fat Fish Racing. It's a summer mountain bike racing series that isn't limited to professionals or riders who've been competing for a long time. It's open to everyone, regardless of skill level.
Fat Fish Racing aims to provide fun, sustainable cycling events to the Casper area now, and for future generations, while promoting physical health and well-being by encouraging people of all abilities to ride, tour and race bikes.
The Fat Fish Races have been held since 2010, and this year, there are 8 events to participate in. If you've been part of them before, they're adding some new trails. Plus, they'll be joining the Central Wyoming Trails Alliance for a build day and a group ride.
Here are the events on the schedule:
- June 1 Sqaw Creek
- June 6 Duncan Creek Ranch workday/ group ride.
- June 15 Bikeathalon Brawl
- June 29 Dry Creek Clash
- July 13 Muddy Mountain Group Ride
- July 27 Casper Mountain Crusher
- August 10 Maze Craze
- August 24 Bike Bash
Again, you don't have to be an elite mountain biker to enter; any skill level is welcome. If nothing else, you may meet a few new friends and find new places to mountain bike.
