Federal Judges Sentence Four Men
Federal judges recently sentenced four men for child pornography, illegal alien, and firearms crimes, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.
U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced Chase McKay Stagner, 21, of Chico, Calif., for two counts of production of child pornography. Stagner was arrested in California and extradited to Wyoming. He received 15 years of imprisonment, to be followed by 15 years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment and pay $5,000 to the Justice for Victims Trafficking Act.
This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The government regards child pornography as a crime of violence because it involves sometimes brutal assaults on young children who cannot give consent to sexual activity.
Skavdahl also sentenced Fermin Fidencio Fausto, 38, of Evanston for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He received six years of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and a $250 fine.
This case was investigated by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced two men for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Both were sentenced to time served, plus 10 days, and were ordered to pay $100 special assessments, and are subject to deportation upon release from custody.
Jose Ulices Valenzuela-Gradiz, 35, of San Marcos de Colon, Choluteca, Honduras, was arrested in Worland.
Valenzuela-Gradiz's case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Christian Alberto Zamorano-Duran, 25, of Cajeme, Sonora, Mexico, was arrested in Casper.
Zamorano-Duran's case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
