Escaped Prisoner in Evanston is Apprehended

There has been what is described as an "active shooter" incident at the Uinta County Courthouse complex in Evanston this morning, but the suspect has been caught.

Uinta County law enforcement is reporting that Jonathan Olivares apparently overpowered a detention officer in the Third District Court, stole a gun and ran from the building. He stole a small sedan and escaped.

Authorities were alerted and even the Utah Highway Patrol was prepared in case he crossed the state line.

But, it seems he never left the city and was apprehended within an hour of his escape.

No one was seriously hurt in the incident.
