A Mills man is heading to prison on charges stemming from a case in which prosecutors say he sexually assaulted a young girl.

Fifty-year old David Wilson was sentenced to four-to-seven years in prison, after entering an Alford plea to one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Mills police say the victim told investigators, Wilson had touched her inappropriately in March of 2012.

A friend also told police that she witnessed some of the incidents.

Investigators say there was another report from a restaurant waitress, who described seeing a similar incident in November 2011.

Wilson said he entered the Alford plea, because he was intoxicated at the time and does not remember the events.

An Alford plea is not an admission of guilt, but it acknowledges that prosecutors have enough evidence for a conviction.
