The Natrona County Planning & Zoning Commission will hear a request for a recycling center west of Casper at its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to the commission's agenda found at www.natrona.net.

The Calgary, Alberta Canada-based Enerflex Energy Services Inc., wants to create a major subdivision on the site of a natural gas processing facility the company closed last year. The 27.4-acre subdivision with five lots would be bordered by Renauna Avenue, Melodi Lane, North Salt Creek Highway and Andy Road north of Casper.

The Planning & Zoning Commission also will hear a request from Dana Jones who wants a conditional use permit for an auto reduction and recycling center for metals and some vehicles on 18 acres of his property west of Casper on West U.S. Highway 20-26, according to the application filed by Jones' attorney Harry Bondi.

The request arose from a civil case Jones filed against Natrona County about its land use regulations and how they affected his properties, which have hundreds of old and collector vehicles that are inoperable and/or unlicensed, according to Bondi.

The staff of the Planning & Zoning Department, which operates under the authority of the commission, reviewed the request and found it would not affect county services; nor significantly affect traffic, the environment or public health; nor impair the use of nearby properties.
